3 Tech Startups to Participate at World’s Largest Investment Event Mining Indaba 2020

Three startup tech companies will have a chance to pitch their business at the world’s largest Investment Event. This conference is an agreement part between energy and resources open innovation platform, Unearthed, and organizers of the Investing in African Mining Indaba conference.

The three companies will get the opportunity to pitch their business as part of the Startups Unearthed Africa initiative, held on day three of the Mining Indaba, in Cape Town, South Africa, February 5, 2020.

Unearthed further explained at a statement, “startups Unearthed Africa aims to shine the light on partnerships between startups and industry operators or service providers that have delivered value to the resources sector.”

According to the event organizers, applications to join this conference are open to any tech company based or operating in Africa that has a case study to showcase an innovative mining technology solution. Unearthed also added that the three applicants who passed the screening will get the opportunity to present their businesses to approximately 750 investors and dealmakers, 220 mining company leaders, and 34 government ministers.

Aside from the preeminent three pitching positions, each partnership will have one full complimentary pass to Mining Indaba, held from February 3-6. Final applicants will as well receive recognition and exposure through Unearthed media channels to larger mining industry.

Holly Bridgewater, Industry Lead of Crowdsourcing at Unearthed will moderate this session and added that the organizers wanted the presentations to highlight where resource sector leaders and startups are working together successfully to solve key problems for the mining industry, showing the rest of the industry how this is done.

Catriona McDavid, Investing in African Mining Indaba Senior Conference Producer, remarked, “startups are undoubtedly a driving force for innovation.
