Going Digital, AgroDomain Launches In Nigeria With Its Latest Platform

To empower the agricultural industry players in Africa, startup AgroDomain has finally launched its platform, in the Nigerian Agro market. The integrated Pan African Agro Marketplace platform is designed to meet the demands of the country’s agriculture value chain and utilize digital pathways to achieve this goal.

As the intended users of the platform, farmers will be granted access to markets, allowing them to oversee the current trends in overall market price, as well as doing crowdfunding for finalizing their farm projects. The digital nature of the service takes farmers into absorbing all kinds of data that in turn, help support their business venture. Other advantages for the farmers are the wider market reach to achieve profitable sales. They’re supplied with digital network and extension services, insights and support, as well as logistics access, which will decrease the difficulty of handling agricultural inputs, machinery, and products.

“The platform which is the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa is purely digital and transactional in nature and is further envisioned to bring digital transformation to the agricultural ecosystem in Nigeria in the first instance and to Africa at large,” says Victor Ugwuh, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of AgroDomain during a ceremony in Abuja. The platform changes the way agricultural industry players navigate their way through the mechanical part of the business- and now it’s all about the direct access to what they truly need regardless of time and place, which are no longer a barrier with the digital consciousness. “AgroDomain provides end-to-end support across the agricultural value chain and empowers agricultural industry players, irrespective of their size,” Ugwuh added.

According to Ugwuh, the platform addressed the core needs of players in the Agricultural Value Chain in Africa; Access to markets, funding, reliable suppliers, data, farm cooperatives’ management, On-Demand Agro logistics services, and secure and streamlined payment platform, as seen from its various section dedicated to Crop, Livestock, Farm Inputs, Farm Machinery and Farm Funding. It also serves as an Agro Trucker, Agro Insurance hub, Agro digital network, Farm Cooperative management tool, and integrated eWallet and Payment system, respectively.

The startup has received tremendous positive feedbacks from fellow agro stakeholders, coming from Evelyn Obrakpe, a Cash Crop Manager, who is impressed with the immense support from the team. “They simplified even the seemingly difficult task and provided me with the confidence to engage when I was in doubt. They’re always willing to help out.”

A Farm Operations Manager, Obi Ayamke has spoken about the credible buyers they manage to meet thanks to the platform. “AgroDomain has afforded us the opportunity to reach a vast network of credible buyers within a short period of time. This has enabled us to expand our market reach as well as increase our turnover tremendously. The platform has become a catalyst for our business.”

“We have been able to purchase most of the seeds and fertilizers we need for our products through AgroDomain. It is the only Agro Platform that caters for both the small, big and the co-operative farm interests. It has made life easier for us,” says Chinedu Nwankwo, a Farm Cooperative President.
