Ethiopia has been chosen as the host for the International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITME) event, which will be held in Addis Ababa on the 16th of February in 2020. This event would be the first African entry for the industry, making it as the catalyst to the development in Africa’s textile industry, and hopefully gained remarkable advantages to other industries such as airlines, hotel, transport, tourism, and more. The event is realized with the collaboration between the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations and ITME Society, an apex non-profit industry based in India.
But why Ethiopia is chosen to represent the progressive event?
The country has long been known as one of the major countries in Africa with healthy development in its textile industry, and it has this unique position in the African Union. As host for the international event, it will facilitate the event’s objective of becoming the focal point and trigger for economic growth, employment generation, and technology up-gradation in Ethiopia and other countries in Africa, according to the organizer. Following the exhibition is an intricate list of sourcing solutions, joint ventures, and the many opportunities of investing in the potential partners that are not only limited to Ethiopia but reaching across the continent.
ITME 2020 will showcase textile products, the utilized technology in the textile-making industry, engineering, and other services, such as the financial institutions and allied segments. The exhibition will begin on 14th February 2020 in the Millenium Hall venue.
