Sodexo Appoints New Chief Executive Officer for Africa & Middle East

Sodexo Africa & Middle East, a company offering services that improve the Quality of Life, has announced the appointment of its new CEO, Colm O’Mahony. In his role, O’Mahony plans to strengthen and expand Sodexo’s regional portfolio, while incorporating the organization’s forward-thinking approach across all business expansion strategies to amplify sustainability and development for partners, stakeholders and employees.

With an early background as a sportsperson, O’Mahony’s leadership style prioritizes teamwork and co-operation, with a commitment to supporting diversity, equity, inclusion and safety within the workplace; whilst upholding the highest standards of corporate responsibility and ethical business conduct.

Commenting on his appointment, O’Mahony says: “I’m delighted to join the Sodexo Middle East team and lead the business on the path of success in this region. Previously, O’Mahony held the position of CEO Education Asia Pacific since September 2015, where he was instrumental in establishing Sodexo’s strong market leader in private schools in many countries across the region. During his six-year tenure as CEO, O’Mahony successfully spearheaded over 200 projects in education services. Prior to this, he held the position of President of Sodexo Hong Kong and led Sodexo’s International Education and Remote Sites Division in Greater China; tripling revenues in Sodexo Hong Kong while targeting new markets such as Airport lounges on top of its core business of Education & Corporate Services  

O’Mahony has enjoyed a 17-year tenure with Sodexo since joining as the Director of Racecourses and Football Stadia for Sodexo’s Sports and Leisure (Sodexo Live) in the UK in 2005. He also held the position of Executive Director for Commercial Education in the UK from 2008 until 2011. Before joining Sodexo, O’Mahony held various roles in the catering and events industry in the UK and has been at the helm of managing numerous iconic events across the country’s sports and leisure industries.

Over the course of his 30-year career in the industry, O’Mahony has earned the reputation of being a facilitator of business growth, doubling earnings, solidifying his organization’s reputation as the provider of choice. As CEO of Sodexo Middle East, O’Mahony aims to build on the company’s vision to create a better tomorrow for all stakeholders, including Sodexo’s partners, employees and customers.
